Benefits of Membership in

CGCI for Your Club

As the largest and oldest federation of garden clubs and plant societies in California, California Garden Clubs, Inc. (CGCI) has 75 years of experience establishing, promoting and successfully operating garden clubs throughout the state.

Networking opportunities with fellow gardeners are “priceless” as we share these common goals:

  • To create and promote interest in horticulture, gardening and floral and landscape design
  • To encourage and engage in civic beautification and the improvement of roadsides
  • To aid in protecting California's native plants, wildlife and natural beauty
  • To promote and participate in projects and programs that conserve our natural resources
  • To centralize and coordinate the work of individual garden clubs (district & state levels)

CGCI’s inexpensive Liability Insurance program as well as Directors & Officers Insurance is available to qualifying clubs.

Membership in National Garden Clubs (NGC) is included ($.50 of CGCI dues per capita) so you are automatically a member of a successful volunteer organization with 6500 clubs and over 200,000 members worldwide.

Participation in the awards program offered by NGC and CGCI gives public recognition for your club and its accomplishments.

Clubs have access to CGCI’s web site calendar and Golden Gardens Dateline for posting of club “special events” and promoting your garden club activities.

IRS Nonprofit Group Exemption program is now available to qualifying clubs. Your club can obtain 501(c)(3) status through CGCI.

A FREE permanent email address is available to every club through CGCI’s web site and automatically routed to your club’s email contact.

Prospective garden club members are referred to clubs by CGCI’s membership table venues around the state including the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show, California State Home & Garden Show in Sacramento and the San Diego Fair at Del Mar.

FREE membership and promotional materials are available.

Prospective garden club members referred to individual clubs via NGC and CGCI web site inquiries.

FREE Certificates are available to honor members of for outstanding service and/or long-term service.

Program resources are available through CGCI Chairmen.
