SACRAMENTO RIVER VALLEY DISTRICT TOURS
Sacramento River Valley District will be contracting with UC Davis for a 20-passenger bus for four trips for 2007-2008. All buses, except for the UCD Horticulture Tour bus (see details below), will be leaving the Mondavi Center in Davis at 7:30a.m. There is a $6 fee to park at Mondovi Center that is not covered in the fees paid for any tour.
To secure the seat(s) for the tours, please give all non-refundable payments (check made out to SRVD) to Maureen Gormley (354.2787). If you cannot attend, you may find a substitute from a District waiting list.
Northern CA Greenhouse & Nursery Production Tour
February 1 & 2; Friday and Saturday

Transportation costs $65 in advance . Held every year for the benefit of students; extra seats on bus are made available to public on first-come-first-served basis. This year’s trip will vary 20%+/- from last year’s. Last year’s schedule was: Friday: Depart Mondavi Center, Davis at 5:30 a.m. visit California and San Francisco Flower Markets (wholesale flower market) and large potted plant nursery/ greenhouse production in Half Moon Bay. Lunch on your own at a shopping mall along the route.
Visit bedding plant and flowering potted plant production in Morgan Hill; possibly one other stop. Overnight lodging in Gilroy, Salinas or vicinity. Funds for lodging collected when boarding bus. Dinner on your own (or as part of an impromptu group); not included in price. Saturday: Board bus in hotel parking lot at 7 a.m. Tour ornamental production facilities (greenhouse, field, nursery) in the Watsonville area (2 or 3 stops). Return to Mondavi Center in Davis at approximately 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In March, nearly 150 professional floral designers and garden club members will use the inspiring medium of fresh flowers to interpret selected works of art at the 24th annual “Bouquets to Art”. In addition to the floral interpretations of art, some of the world’s most prestigious floral artists will discuss style and trends while creating arrangements onstage.
